Saturday

Dating

Seth usually has Fridays off, and we try to get out of the house and do something different since he works Saturdays. (there goes our chance for camping this summer.) at the start of June we headed up American fork canyon to the reservoir. We brought both the dogs and played in the water and then went on a hike. It was so shady and followed the river, so it was nice and cool. At the bottom, the river broke up across the flatland and became tons of small, shallow streams. We basically taught the dogs how to swim and cross the water, so they were drenched and shivering.
On our way out we drive through the coolest campground! We want to go back, but this canyon still scares me a bit. (the bear attack a few years ago.)

As it has become warmer and more impossible to be outside, we have found ourselves on indoor dates. We love going to a matinee and lunch. If you havent tried mountain west burrito you must! They use all organic, local, free-range products. Which I love and makes it taste better too.

On another day time date we went and tried kohinoor in Orem. (Indian food.) it wasn't very good-- too salty and the naan sucked. We won't go back, but it's fun to try different places. Then we went to platos and DI to drop stuff off and look around. We love thrifting so much. We need to do a yard sale date next time!!

Lastly, we spent a day at trafalga with jake, Seth's bro. Not too exciting, but it's free with our pass of all passes. We played 3 rounds of mini golf which was way fun actually. I did really well for the first time ever in my life. I actually beat Sethid. Seth and jake rode the go carts. (I had open toe shoes on so I couldn't.) they got a little competitive! Seth won. :) he caused everyone else to crash at some point which was really funny to me. He loves winning! He gets a little crazy and it's so cute. We ended the night at McDonald's.

We love our day time dates! I look forward to it each week.

Now I am craving McDonald's....

love after love

The time will come when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other's welcome,
and say
sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger
who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread.
Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you all your life...

Take down the love
letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs,
the desperate notes, peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit.
Feast on your life.
