Moab
This year, our Moab trip felt a little hurried and busy for my liking. Seth's grandpa passed away Tuesday, so we had the funeral on Friday morning. It was rough. Even though we know about the plan of salvation and are comforted by it, it is never easy to say goodbye. I felt so sad for his whole family, and many tears were shed by both of us through the week. I am truly so grateful for my knowledge and belief in heaven and eternal families. We got to price on Thursday night for the viewing and then the funeral was Friday. We headed out to Moab around 2:00 that afternoon, and then spent Friday night in Monticello. We had the funniest/creepiest experience there! It was a beautiful drive down, but that town has just a weird vibe. We saw the temple, had a late and pretty gross dinner, and then stayed in a pretty run down hotel.
We laughed a lot. We also talked to the hotel manager, sunny, for a long time before bed. He was from India and we loved him. We tried swimming but the pool scared us. We definitely have plans to go back though- because there are a lot of fun things to do down there that we didn't have time for.
Saturday morning we got up and drove into Moab. We spent the day shopping, swimming and taking many walks. We went to the actual car show too, which Seth missed last year. He loved it! We went to dinner that night at the blu pig which was soo yummy and had a live blues band. We will for sure go back to the spot- though we will have to try the quesadilla truck too! My family ate there. We had a bout of indecisiveness trying to go to dinner as a group that night.
We stayed at the sleep in this year instead of the Bowen and loved it. The pool was huge and warm and clean. The room was so nice and comfy. Plus they offered a hot breakfast.. Which we never ate. Oops! But we will be there again next year.
Sunday morning, we met my family at the jailhouse cafe for breakfast. It was so so yummy and I always love eating outside in the sun and morning air. We then kept the girls while mom dad and shay went home, and we drive to dead horse point, which we'd never seem before. It was a good little trip, though next time we will send the girls home so we can be alone. I truly gained an appreciation for our freedom this trip. And while we are in the process of figuring out why I'm not pregnant, I may have decided that I'd like to wait at least another year maybe. I can't wait to have children, but I also really really love our calm, easy adventures together. He and I have so much fun and are so compatible and I just enjoy the solitude so much. You can't go back once you have children.. So perhaps we will wait a little longer.
I will post more photos later, when I get them from shay's phone.
