cling

We have been so busy and overwhelmed over here for the past few weeks. We slightly redecorated our house and have been painting, refinishing furniture, moving large items, hanging blinds and curtains, and just sweating a lot in general. I am sore and depleted. And then school started, and I am weird about not having my house in order before heading out of it. Or driving my car if it's unclean. I am just a line upon line sort of gal. But class must be attended, so that has frustrated me and created more mess in my home. I am spending a couple hours alone tonight trying to get some cleaning done while seth plays softball. I'm a bit sad about missing it because it's the last little whisps of summer going by. I think he has a few weeks left though. And funnily, I am over summer anyway. I am so ready for leaf-lined streets like the photo above from last year. I know that this time of year is so super fleeting and I am honestly a little anxious about missing it. Couldn't we please have a full fall this year? Like, from now until Thanksgiving. Thank you mama nature.

Anyway, I have my cozy station on pandora and am in a vacuuming sort of mood, so I will post again soon with some updates.

love after love

The time will come when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other's welcome,
and say
sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger
who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread.
Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you all your life...

Take down the love
letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs,
the desperate notes, peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit.
Feast on your life.
