Saturday

Labor day

We took the girls, (as usual, they're our favorite friends!) as in Madie, Brin and Ali on a short camping trip over Labor Day weekend.
We just went up to Whiting Campground in Maple Canyon, which I've been to quite a few times but never actually camped in.
I think it's our new place to camp. It was so quiet and so pretty and so close to home!
It really felt like we had gone far, far away, and yet we were seriously six minutes from our house. What a great thing, to live that close to nature.

Seth loves being at one with nature.

So does this little girl. Look at her filth!

And of course, our best friends! Al and Mad are always willing to hang out with us old married folk, and they really are so entertaining and delightful. I'd rather go out to dinner with them than any of my so called friends! (sorry guys! :]) These two just crack me up and we have the ability to have in-depth conversations and also dance around aimlessly to the backstreet boys. I have known both of them almost their whole lives, and I'm glad that they think it's fun (and not weird) to hang out with me even though I'm 23 and they're 15.
And this photo of them rocks.

Here's to next Labor Day!

love after love

The time will come when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other's welcome,
and say
sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger
who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread.
Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you all your life...

Take down the love
letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs,
the desperate notes, peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit.
Feast on your life.
