i truly have not blogged for a few weeks, due mostly to my attempt at organizing all of my photos and finding a slick, quick way of uploading and editing them.
and then...i happened upon the best app so far that makes my whole iphone worth it's weight in galleons! meet instagram, my new best friend.
and then...i happened upon the best app so far that makes my whole iphone worth it's weight in galleons! meet instagram, my new best friend.

coincidentally, i've seen instagram used on almost all of my favorite blogs recently, where rave reviews have been given. so who knows if i'll ever shoot with a real camera again. especially in light of the pretty much awful photos i had printed from my first time using the ricoh. (no, not really. i'll keep practicing, because lets face it, i love film.)
but enough of that.
but enough of that.

i have been so busy lately with being a student. as a full time english major finally getting into my upper-level classes, i have been practically drowning in papers, literary analysis, tudor british literature and poetry. also grammar. in fact, as i write this i find myself trying not to question my sentence structure, squinting at the screen in confusion. (was that absolute phrase too much?) i could write pages and pages on my stance against descriptive grammer, which i find somewhat amusing given my bad, bad habit of "correcting" peoples (read: seth's) grammar.
the cool part of this busy-ness is that i have become such a good student! for reals, i know. i think what i needed was to be challenged. it probably also helps that i am studying things that i actually care about and plan to do something with. i'm so excited to feel secure in my choice of career. i am passionate about teaching, and i am passionate about english. i love learning about different theories on analyzing "The Metamorphosis" and then coming home to tell my huboh (just made that name up) all about it. if i'm excited about that, i can't wait to see myself teaching students- engaging them in deeper thinking and communicating skills, encouraging them to be good writers, and watching them come to the same eye-opening realizations that i did myself as a student.
i love it. i love my eight hour days filled with Utopia, Feminist Criticism, The Victorian age of literature and Bell Hooks essays on black vernacular and the debates surrounding linguistics.
i planned to launch from my update on school-life straight to some thoughts i have had recently concerning 2011 feminism, but now i'm out of time and the carpet cleaning guy is here, with ginny barking at his heels and me in my pajamas still. i do definitely still enjoy my days off after all.
