Thursday

make sure it's real cheese!

holy smackaroos! it is windy in the city today.
i'm having a truly lazy day around here. it bugs me when i do this unless i completely embrace it.
do you have any idea how much time i spend indoors?
there are many days during the week that i don't leave my house at all.
and the rest of the days i only leave at night to go get a jug of milk or to take ginny on a walk.
i try to tell myself it's because it's been so cold and i am just cooping up waiting for spring.
but i sometimes end up worrying about wasting away and never doing anything meaningful
and then most of the rest of the time i completely and totally succeed at embracing it and loving my days filled with oprah and sex and the city reruns cuddled up on the couch with my pup.
it's so nice!
i also remind myself that summer will be three days a week of 8 hour school days and so i should soak up all sleeping in and noshing all day in front of the tv
because my plan is to be at school those days and then spend tuesday and thursday out in the wild summer sun!
i want to have adventures and spend saturdays far away from home exploring utah with my husband and ginny.
okay and doing homework too of course.

well anyways, i spent some time out today when the wind started blowing so ferociously that it slammed the front door and the window curtain in it.
and by some time i mean like 2 minutes because it was fah-reezing!
here are my photos from our backyard:

i love love love our back yard. i love the clothes line, the huge mountains, the green and yellow, the big open sky. i hope to spend lots of time out there in the summer. maybe do my homework on a blanket while ginny runs around being crazy like she is. all right well back to oprah for me!

-------------------------------------------------
we never went golfing, due to the rain that has been plaguing us.
i have a bunch of film from the camera my grandparents gave me that i am dying to get developed! rah why does it have to be so pricey?? i should at least get it out of there so it doesn't rot or something. yikes.
also my holga is waiting and i'm not sure if i wasted the 35mm film i tried using in her or not. anxious to find out.
i have a bunch of little household projects that i want to get started soon. i want to recover my couch pillows so i'm on the hunt for the perfect fabric. i need to paint our kitchen chairs and the bedroom dresser. those are the three that i'm focused on for now.

love after love

The time will come when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other's welcome,
and say
sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger
who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread.
Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you all your life...

Take down the love
letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs,
the desperate notes, peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit.
Feast on your life.
