Wednesday

rainy sun

i am absolutely loving this weather
it's warm and moist
shady and sunny
not too hot, not too cold
just perfect for an early walk with ginny and my seth
or to leave the door open so we can listen to the birds
our heater only comes on at night and leaves the house toasty in the morning
and then the fresh rainy air seeps in
i feel like i live somewhere else- it actually feels like the climate of hawaii!

we've been spending our days reading and playing in our backyard
making dinner together, trying new recipes
having my sisters sleep over even though we go to bed so early
every night all three of us crash around nine or ten
weird

i've been browsing around anthro's website today- so bittersweet
and i found a few things i want for my birthday!
{told seth already}

this apron will make me feel fancy while i cook. i love cooking for my sweetie.
and of course this is what i'll be cooking! my indian food is very touch and go- and i think a real live cook book could seal the deal for this obsession of ours.
and some french dessert. mmm. we tried our hand at homemade macarons last saturday-
they were very yummy, but not as fluffy as intended. and very delicate to make- we messed up quite a few times. messy. cookbook needed!

excuse me, this weather has been making me super thirsty. until next time.

love after love

The time will come when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other's welcome,
and say
sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger
who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread.
Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you all your life...

Take down the love
letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs,
the desperate notes, peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit.
Feast on your life.

~Derek Walcott

bring it on back

and i am telling you..
