The Yardley Inn and Spa
We had such a good time celebrating Valentines early in Manti this last weekend.
We left Saturday morning and a hop, skip and a jump later found ourselves in the coziest, most relaxing little bed and breakfast. We hung out in the library for a bit and picked out some old classic movies, then we popped in the Shirley Temple rendition of The Little Princess and snuggled. I fell asleep due to the fact that Seth tickled my back, plus the whole place smelled like lavender and she brought us a glass pitcher of the most satisfying water I've ever drank, and I secretly think it was spiked with something. Cause I was out. For like two hours.
When we woke up we drove around the city for a bit and picked a place to eat- we ordered salmon and fried zucchini and lots of fries and dr. pepper. We took funny pictures and then left with our arms full of valentines cookies.
We spent an hour or so in the temple, and I found the room that my family and I were sealed in years ago. It brought tears to my eyes and was so comforting, especially having my husband there.
I am very grateful for eternal marriages and families. I had a really strong feeling during those hours that our children are very close to us and that it is such a blessing to already be tied to them forever.
We went back to our room and found sparking cider, chocolates and warm robes waiting for us. We opened the windows and took a bath in the giant tub. It had chromatherapy in it- which basically means you can turn the water any color you want! We made it red. We had bath salts, bubble bath, tons of different oils. When we turned on the jets we almost flooded the whole house. I fell getting into the tub and it hurt. We had a ton of candles lit all over the room. And it was such a pretty room.
That was definitely my favorite part.
Afterwards, we clambered into the big soft bed in our cozy robes and I read a book about the importance of water while Seth put in another old movie. We slept in until about 10, had fruit and granola and juice, and then spent the rest of the day horn hunting.
It was really the best little trip we've taken, and we're planning to make it a valentines tradition!
Go visit the yardley inn if you're in manti- trust us.
