nox

if you go to the harry potter wiki, you will find an immense amount of information pertaining to the books, movies and games of the magical world. and it's all fact! for instance, a list of every spell ever used, it's origin and what it does, and the times it has been used by which character. something i find so intriguing about writers is that when they create a story, as you can imagine, they create a real world for themselves. jk rowling knows all of the names of the students in harry's year in gryffindor. she never wrote about them, but they were created when she created this world.
i could spend weeks reading through the entire site. i've been on it more over the last few days then i can even keep track of. and just now i'm listening to the 7th audio book and texting my cousin about my agony over the end.
tomorrow.
it begins tomorrow.

in Latin, "nox" means "night." nox is also the name of the Roman Goddess of night.

love after love

The time will come when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other's welcome,
and say
sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger
who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread.
Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you all your life...

Take down the love
letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs,
the desperate notes, peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit.
Feast on your life.

~Derek Walcott
