Sur La Table

I spent Saturday afternoon shopping and eating with my mom, aunt and grandma. Get us four together and you will have no shortage of laughter, ditziness or stories. I love spending time with them. Anyway. We happened upon this store called Sur La Table- pronounced Sur La Tahb- and let me tell you. It was a store of everything kitchen. And I mean everything. I was so excited! The sparkly wisks spun my heart! The colorful toasters shook me. I probably fell in love. How materialistic. Well if you haven't been there, please go. If for nothing else than their odd inventions. (A motorized, self-twirling spagetti fork!?)
And do enjoy my random picture of the Anthropology window. I couldn't help myself. I love that place.

love after love

The time will come when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other's welcome,
and say
sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger
who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread.
Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you all your life...

Take down the love
letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs,
the desperate notes, peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit.
Feast on your life.
