Saturday

NieNie

I don't know how many of you have heard about Stephanie and Christian Nielson's plane crash on August 16th, but you can read about it here. I don't even know them-- I heard their story via the UVU announcement page:
"On Saturday, August 18th, Stephanie and Christian Nielson were in a horrible plane crash in Arizona. Stephanie is the daugher and Christian is son-in-law to our legislator Steve Clark and councilwoman Cynthia Clark. The pilot has passed away, Stephanie has burns on 80% of her body, and Christian has burns on 30% of his body. Their recovery will be slow and painful, and costing well in to the millions. They have four small children at home, ages 6,4,3, and 1. You can place donations at any Bank of America under the 'Christian and Stephanie Nielson Rehab Fund' or Wells Fargo under 'Stephanie Nielson Fund.' Please keep them in your hearts and prayers in the upcoming weeks. For more information please go to cjanerun.com where the family is posting updates."
The story is so tender to me right now. Especially after reading Stephanie'sblog. THey are beautiful people. I'm praying for them and their family. You will find a donation link on the right side of the page.

love after love

The time will come when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other's welcome,
and say
sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger
who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread.
Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you all your life...

Take down the love
letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs,
the desperate notes, peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit.
Feast on your life.
