photo dump

I really hate doing this, but I deem it necessary at this point. I have not blogged for months! (Months, really? Okay maybe weeks, I'm not sure.) So the only feasible thing to do is a photo dump to update the last fleeting moments of our summer. Then its right into fall blogging for me. I've always been an awesome blogger in the fall- something about being studious I think. Something about the leaves and the cooler days. Something about open windows and the smell of pumpkins. Something about the holidays around the corner. I do much more interesting things in the fall I think.
Right! Well here you go:

Last night we jammed at the rooftop concert in Provo. It was actually a little chilly, which rather confused my summer-sick body.

Ginny didn't love the loud sounds of the Imagine Dragons very much. But she's so cute!

So is her dad :)

A week or so ago we spent the afternoon up Hobble Creek running around in the dewy grass.

He broke his line first cast. Made me sort of happy... more time for me!

We live in a gorgeous place.

Right?

Seth got me pretty roses on our anniversary, and we had such a nice dinner at The Chef's Table. I had never been there- it was so good.

Shay got hurt at Jump On It. :( Broken vertebrae in her back and some fluid injury in her elbow. (Can't remember the name.) It was awful and a very long night in the emergency room. She is slowly getting better though!

Gin and I have spent quite a few days at the park by our house. Just lounging together.

Lounging is something Ginny is really good at. Here with Madie (Auntie M) at our house.

We had our yard sale! I think this was actually right around the time I abandoned my blog, and the date on the photo is July 31st. We ended up doing pretty well! Who knew we had so much junk.

Whew! Aren't you so glad we're done with that? I'll make sure to not let that happen again, k kids?

Don't know what you're talking about...I'd say you had a pretty interesting summer. Don't you loooove all the wild sunflowers? They're all over up here. Are you back in school being studious now?

whoops! just saw this, laur. seems kind of dumb to respond now. so i'll just say hi! love you!

love after love

The time will come when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other's welcome,
and say
sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger
who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread.
Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you all your life...

Take down the love
letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs,
the desperate notes, peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit.
Feast on your life.

~Derek Walcott
